Plastics can be seen everywhere.

People find it very convenient to use plastics and buy things with plastics. Most of the products we buy are made out or use the packaging of plastics which are bad for our environment and leads to plastic pollution. Instead of using plastic bottles, people should buy something that lasts longer like glass bottles or tumblers. In that way, the consumption of plastic can be lessen and we can save our environment specially the seas from dying. The use of plastic straws should be ban because it is consumed once and thrown away after. Since most of the plastic straws cannot be recycled, it is hard to dispose it properly. Aside from that, it contributes to the climate change because of the methane gas it releases.

Philippines is previously ranked as the third biggest ocean polluters of plastic. Up to 750,000 metric tons a year of plastic waste spills into the ocean. That's around 9% of the global leakage of plastic into the ocean because the garbage can not be contained by our dumpsites. This is very harmful in marine life. Not only that but it also contributes to air pollution when we burn it.

Through this petition, I would like to make a change in our environment by banning the use of plastic materials such as plastic bottles and plastic straws here in the Philippines. The target are the teenagers who loves to buy drinks that use plastic as a container of their drinks, parents so that they can educate their children on this matter, and all of the people who use plastics and throwing it away after without proper disposal.
