Washington State is the only state in the U.S. with the face of a slave owner on it’s flag. Around the country there is an awakening of the collective consciousness about racial injustice and the removal of all monuments, symbols, flags and ideas from a time in our country where black people had little to no rights and were treated as less than human. Sadly some people still want to hold on to those times but we the people say no 

George Washington was a slave owner and for that reason he should not be exalted and or celebrated as someone who is worthy of being on the Flag of the State of Washington. There are so many other ways to honor our great state with a flag them at represents the values of the people and for that reason his image should be removed from the flag.

i am asking that you join me in calling on the Governor, House and Senate to make the right decision and stand with the people of the great state and immediately and permanently remove the image of George Washington from our state flag
