Overturn ban on Live Music

The Issue

The live music industry has been singled out for closure by the Governor of Washington State. It is our belief that this was done without any adequate professional research on just how Live Music aids in the transmission of Covid 19. It is our belief that Live Music has no direct bearing on the transmission of the virus and using proper social distancing techniques that it would be considered perfectly safe for the industry to resume operations.

Theatres, and music venues (excluding bars and restaurants unless they have the adequate distance between patrons and stage) have adequate space between seats and the stage to ensure that people are safe in these type of venues.

This shutdown has caused irreparable harm not only to the music venue's, but their staff, production crews that rely on this industry for their livelihood, musicians and entertainers that use this as their sole source of income to support their families and pay their mortgages and debts.

We firmly believe, in this time of unrest and restrictions forced upon the public, that people need and want a release, and live entertainment serves this purpose.

Allowing people to use common sense to decide if they want to go out to this type of establishment is a right that has been unlawfully taken away.
