Black Lightning has been one of the best shows the CW has ever produced, and a monument to black representation on television, and for them to cancel it after only FOUR seasons, is both asinine and tone-deaf. It is one of the few Black tv shows on the CW that actually treats their black characters with RESPECT and DIGNITY. It takes it's subject matter seriously, and doesn't relegate the issues it discusses to a mere "very special episode", like other shows do. It puts the problems front and center for it's audience to see, and wasn't afraid of making them uncomfortable doing so. Cancelling one of the only black superhero shows is unfair to both the audience that loves it, and the people who work on it. They have become a part of something important for television, and cancelling it far too soon is taking that AWAY from them. 

Black Lightning was one of the few shows on television that portrayed important subject matter such as police brutality, LGBTQ relationships, white supremacy, fascism, murder of black children by law enforcement, corruption, drug addiction, and so on. It was the only chance for black people to see themselves in a positive light, and to their struggles put out in front for everyone to witness. To end the show this soon speaks to how much you really care about any of the topics, because none of the other shows on your channel show even an INKLING of interest in discussing these issues. Which is why I and a number of other fans of the show ask that you renew the show again, or put it on a network where it'll get the respect it DESERVES. Black Lightning does not deserve to be swept under the rug, it deserves to LAST, to be celebrated among it's peers, and to tell the stories that deserve to be told. Do not take that away from us. Rethink your decision and renew the show again. I promise you, it won't be a choice you regret, because if you continue this line of thinking going forward, you will.
