In 1996, Space Jam, our generation's Gone With The Wind, was released to an adoring public. It's mix of live action sporting skills and wacky cartoon hi-jinks changed the lives of children and adults alike.

There was only one problem though: The Dover Boys of Pimento University were severely under represented.

They did have a cameo in a crowd shot, sure, but they had no speaking lines and none of they famous routines were played out. There wasn't even a Dan Backslide or Dora Stantpipe to round out the shot!

The Dover Boys are important staples in the Warner Brothers canon and their lack of inclusion is a massive oversight.

In 2017, however, Justin Lin is planning to bring us the long awaited sequel to Space Jam, hopefully to tie up all the lose ends left over from the previous entry.

This is a tremendous opportunity to fix the mistakes two decades prior. The Dover Boys need not be the focus of the film, but for them to be important to the plot is essential for myself and my generation of film goers. With The Dover Boys in the public domain, there is no excuse to not include them.

So please, crew of the production, represent good ol' PU and make The Dover Boys major characters in Space Jam 2.
