DC Films, please put Ween's "Ocean Man" in the closing credits to the 2018 Aquaman Film
The Issue
Everyone who knows anything about music knows the band named Ween. Created in 1984 by the brothers Gene and Dean Ween, this eclectic group has created countless songs in countless genres throughout history and garnered fans across the globe including such figures as Oscar and Golden Globe Nominated actor, Jesse Eisenberg. Yet, one of their most well-known songs was the masterpiece "Ocean Man", featured in their psychedelic album "The Mollusk" and in the critically-acclaimed SpongeBob Squarepants Movie created by Viacom and Nickelodeon. This song has brought the band back into the limelight with this glorious paean to a man that came from the deep, blue ocean to teach us all how to live in harmony with each other and our world.
And, of course, everyone who knows anything about comics knows about the marvelous and invincible (and sequined) King of Atlantis, Aquaman. Presenting his debut in 1941 through DC Comic's short-live More Fun Comics and later as part of the Justice League of America and countless other animated and print appearances, Aquaman is now poised to take over the box office thanks to a small cameo portrayed by the great Jason Momoa in DC Film's record breaking "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and the soon upcoming Justice League movie. But DC Films and Warner Brother's reach goes further and they plan to make a stand-alone film about the illustrious illustrated King of Atlantis to be released in 2018 (changing global politics willing). So this is where you, the fan, and you, Warner Brothers Entertainment, come in. What better way to honor the grand King of Atlantis than with this ode to pelagic-terrestrial harmony created by the late 80's greatest exemplars of experimental rock? Of course, I, and every other true fan that signs this petition know this song is not enough to work as a true theme to the Atlantean King, but even to play this song over the latter half of the upcoming film's end credits would be enough to quell the fluttering after watching the possibly-120-minute, action-packed film starring the great and historic Aquaman.
Now, my insignificant begging aside, it is up to you, the petitioner, to help make this dream come true not simply for us diehard Ween or Aquaman or JAson Momoa fans, but to bring this bliss to every bright-eyed child sitting in the theater glimpsing the amazing talen in both film and music brought to us by Warner Brothers Entertainment.
Thank you.
