Warm up to change
Warm up to change
The Issue
See at the warm up everyday the homeless are told to clean and pack up everything. Then they are told that they have to leave the homeless shelter by noon. There not all aloud to have their pets with them or they can be kicked out of the homeless shelter for upwards of a month. People's life's are at risk of overdosing alone in the woods and no one to find them for awhile.I'm worried that some kids playing the woods find them and being allowed to live at the warm up your staff is trained for overdoses. I mean why call it safe harbor if you can't be safe there using. Or ur belongings aren't safe. I'm doing this cause I was once homeless I know how much it hurts to have go and take all your belongings and move them everywhere. I know that when I had to rehome my dogs it was the worst feeling ever it's like giving your children up for adoption. Trust me it's one of the most hardest things to do. It causes you emotional and mental health issues with them not being with you. Well if they were allowed to stay it would cut down on overdoses and help keep the homeless sheltered by giving them a home type deal. It would help them get back to normality by say pay a 150 dollars for a little lot in the parking lot for there tent and stuff and they could make home out of it and have their pets with them and being allowed to have a good home for themselves. And for inside the way it would cost 9 dollars to get the materials to put up three walls for people without pets to rent a room. Paying 125 for a room with a locked door would help keep their belongings safe. If they are not able to afford it. They can alway pay rent by doing community service hours and clean up the city for signed hours from a appointed officer or employee of the safe harbor. For example say 150 is equal to 15 hours out your month or125us equal to 12.5 hours a month. This gets them back into the habit of a routine and gets them into the habit of pay rent on a monthly basis which I hope kicks there mind in bettering themselves. Beside they get 110 dollars per homeless person each day so either give them a room.
