Please help me save our Homebase store in Walthamstow. Developers are planning to create 700 new homes in a series of tower blocks up to 18 storeys tall - on the site of Homebase in Walthamstow.

Us as a community have no use for these flats as there are so many already in the area (even opposite and on both sides of Homebase)

Homebase is such an important store to the local community. It's the only one around for at least 4.4 miles. It is just so handy having a DIY store just so local. Building more homes in place of Homebase will not be ideal for the community as it will make the environment less attractive with even more flats especially 18 storey tower blocks, more job cuts, people needing to travel further to other DIY stores (which may not always be easy for some people) and also it may dampen the community spirit.
