Walsh Middle School is a middle school in Framingham, MA. I recently started attending this school in the third trimester of the school year. One thing I realized about this school immediately was that they don't have all-gendered bathrooms. Yes, there may be an alternative to this problem, which is going to the nurse's office. But the nurse's office is on the first floor, which means that it'd take a long time to access for people coming from second-floor classes or even some first-floor classes, as the school is huge. My goal is to get all-gendered bathrooms for my middle school, that is easier to access for all staff and students who don't feel comfortable using 'male' or 'female' bathrooms. This is such an important decision that needs to be made. I have friends at Walsh that are gender-non-conforming who use the nurse's office bathroom, and it's quite a struggle for them because their classes are especially far away from the nurse's office. With all-gendered bathrooms, being able to do your business and getting back to class as soon as possible will be made easier, having removed the struggle of the 5+ minute walk to the nurse.
