BackStory:

On January 22, 2021, the r/WallStreetBets community initiated a short squeeze on GameStop, pushing their stock prices up significantly. This occurred after a comment from Citron Research predicting the value of the stock would decrease. GameStop ($GME) was sold short 136%

On January 27, 2021, r/WallStreetBets users triggered a short squeeze on AMC, a company in a similar position to GameStop.  This happened on a handful of other stocks.

Moving Forward

Digital currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are better forms of value & money, that are not controlled by central entities.  Like stocks, every cryptocurrency is unique and has metrics that must be researched and reflected on before purchasing.  Bitcoin is the best performing asset of the last decade and rose 9,000,000% percent from 2010 to 2020. 

Bitcoin is:

• Secure and permissionless.  No broker required.
• Bitcoin is scarce and deflationary, like digital gold.  
• It is money and can be used to make purchases.
• Transactions cannot be reversed.

The WallStreetBets community will never face a situation like this again if they focus on cryptocurrencies and other digital assets instead of stocks.   The cryptocurrency community will welcome and educate the over 4M members of the WSB community.
