Petitioning New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg

Allow Occupy Protesters in Zuccotti Park to Erect Tents and Avoid Illness!

The Registered Nurse Response Network and the National Nurses United—the nation's largest union of registered nurses—together with volunteer doctors and medics have been providing first aid to protesters at Zuccotti Park, and are concerned that as winter approaches, protesters are being exposed to severe weather that can put them at risk for hypothermia, respiratory illness, sleep deprivation and many other weather related diseases.

Letter to
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg
I just signed the following petition addressed to: New York City Mayor Bloomberg.

----------------
Allow Occupy Protesters in Zuccotti Park to Erect Tents and Avoid Illness!

It is now one month since the Occupy Wall Street movement has been established in Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan.

The protesters are exercising their constitutional rights to assemble and engage in protest against the misdeeds of Wall Street speculation which have seriously harmed the livelihoods of millions of New Yorkers, people across the country and around the world. It is a human right to have shelter from the elements and as such the Occupy Wall Street protesters must be afforded that same right.

As winter approaches, protesters are being exposed to severe weather that can put them at risk for hypothermia, respiratory illness, sleep deprivation and many other weather related diseases.

We demand that the City of New York immediately allow the protesters to erect tents and to supply their tents with appropriate supplies that will protect them from the harsh elements while they continue to exercise their right to protest in Zuccotti Park.

Sincerely,
