W4 Edensor Road Re-surfacing petition

W4 Edensor Road Re-surfacing petition
The Issue
Edensor Road (W4) is a minefield of potholes from one end to the other and is the only road by which about 500 vehicles in Pumping Station Road, Regency Quay, Corney Reach, Thames Crescent, Edensor Gardens, and Corney Road (one way in, one way out) can escape the area through to Burlington Lane at the bottom of the road. There is in theory an escape route via Grantham Road but this requires a 3-point U-Turn behind the E3 Bus open-air garage. In addition to the 500 or so vehicles this is the turn-round pint or the E3 Bus which provides a bus every 7-10 minutes over 20 odd hours per day so circa 100-150 buses per day. All other delivery vehicles servicing the roads above must eventually navigate Edensor Road westbound to exit the area. Edensor Road has long since resembled a bombed-out runway and the twenty or so potholes seem to require an app called FixMyStreet to report them and hopefully het them scheduled to be fixed. Edensor Road is within the Chiswick Homefields Ward represented by 3 councillors who are a sub-set of 9 councillors who meet quarterly to discuss issues and log them. Having followed the minutes of the last year or so meeting other roads in the 3 Chiswick Wards have been added to their issue list where special attention is needed. Some of these have been added to the list based on a 'petition' of local residents who typically live on the street and have a very vested interest in their solution. Edensor Road only has a small number of residents living on the street as there are mostly small shops and cafes, businesses, a school, and a health centre on the road itself. This petition is calling for a full resurfacing of the road vs an ongoing patchwork of individual fixes. There are complications with regards to the potential temporary closure of the road and the possible potential re-routing of the bus but this has been thought through and can be done with minimal disruption. Please sign this petition to give it more weight at the next quarterly meeting(s) with the Chiswick Area Forum.
