Virginia Tech Planning Services has slated to pave over the paths permanently on the beautiful green Drillfield sometime in the coming future. Imagine looking off the Pylons into the Drillfield and seeing the once wide open green Drillfield covered with strips of asphalt that divides the open space into smaller triangles. Not only will this uglyify one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation but also will constrict and restrict the recreational use of the field by taking away open space and make the true purpose of the Drillfield more difficult to use: a practice area for the Corp of Cadets.

Paved paths will restrict students to roam and play freely because of the added asphalt paths covering the field. This is NOT best thing to do for the school's aesthetics, safety, and recreation.

Look at the picture above and imagine the faint dirt paths covered in asphalt lined with lightposts jutting out all over the Drillfield.
