Vote with your dollar for GMO labeling

Vote with your dollar for GMO labeling
The Issue
California Proposition 37, which would have required GMO labeling, failed by a narrow margin, yet an overwhelming majority of Americans wants foods containing genetically modified ingredients labeled. Proposition 37 had plenty of support until corporations with special interest in hiding GMOs from customers poured millions of dollars into a campaign against GMO labeling.
While we cannot be sure if the food we buy is GMO-free, we can support or boycott companies based on their stance on GMO-labeling. Boycotting sends a strong message that we will not stand idly by and that we will continue the struggle for our right to know what is in our food.
Sadly some companies that make natural or even organic foods are no longer independent but owned by corporations that don't want us to be informed.
owned by Pepsico:
Izze
Naked Juice
owned by Coco Cola:
Honest Tea
Odwalla
Simply Orange
owned by Conagra:
French Meadow
Alexia
LightLife
owned by Kellogg:
Kashi
Morning Star Farms
Gardenburger
Bear Naked
owned by General Mills:
Cascadian Farm
Muir Glen
Lärabar
owned by Smucker:
R.W. Knudsen
Santa Cruz Organic
owned by Dean Foods:
Horizon Organic
Silk
While these companies sometimes still present a better choice than other food companies, let's direct our dollars to independent companies, and especially those that strongly support GMO-labeling:
Dr. Bronner's
Nature's Path
Lundberg
Nutiva
Organic Valley
Amy's
Eden
Baby's Only
Straus Organic
Uncle Matt's
So next time we have a choice between a product by an anti-labeling company (like Horizon Organic) and a pro-labeling company (like Organic Valley), let us vote with our money and spread the word!
