Petition for a Vote of No Confidence in Current Trustees and a Call for Peaceful Transition of Leadership at Kings Church Cambridge

Petition Statement:

In recent months, the Kings Church Cambridge family has experienced deep distress and division as a result of decisions made by the current Board of Trustees. There has been a clear breakdown of trust, transparency, and accountability between the Trustees and the congregation they are called to serve. The constructive dismissal of our pastor—who was effectively forced to resign through the actions and environment created by the Trustees, without proper consultation, support, or transparency—has only deepened this crisis and left our church without the spiritual leadership we so greatly value.

We, the undersigned members and supporters of Kings Church Cambridge, now express a formal vote of no confidence in the current Board of Trustees. We believe their actions have caused significant harm to the unity, wellbeing, and mission of our church. It is our conviction that, for the sake of peace and the future of our congregation, the current Trustees must step aside and facilitate an orderly, peaceful, and transparent handover to new Trustees who will act in the best interests of the whole church body.

We respectfully demand:

  • The immediate initiation of a transition process, whereby the current Trustees resign from their positions and an open, accountable process for appointing new Trustees begins.

  • That the new Trustees will work collaboratively with the congregation to restore trust, transparency, and unity, and to consider the immediate reinstatement of our pastor, whose faithful service has strengthened and grown our church community

This petition is not a step we take lightly. We make this call out of deep care for the future of Kings Church Cambridge, and with a commitment to peaceful and constructive change. Our desire is for our church to be led by those who have the confidence and support of its members, and who will foster healing, restoration, and renewed purpose.

Please sign this petition to support a peaceful transition of trusteeship and the restoration of healthy, accountable leadership at Kings Church Cambridge. Together, we can rebuild trust, unity, and hope for our church community.
