Vote of No Confidence Against Whittier City Council

Vote of No Confidence Against Whittier City Council
The Issue
As concerned residents of Whittier, CA, we are voicing our collective frustration. As voters and taxpayers, we should be hard to ignore. However, our feedback and pleas on numerous pressing issues including the declining state of Uptown, Uptown trees, the Whittwood Mall overdevelopment, cutting 169 healthy trees at Parnell Park, the issues with annexation, the Metro safety concerns, the dilapidated state of our city streets, the outdated infrastructure, the excessive workload of our police force with rising crime, and unaddressed homelessness continue to fall on deaf ears. Our city council, tasked with enacting change to overcome these challenges, has sidestepped the will and welfare of its constituents, favoring special interests instead.
An alarming rise in crime coupled with continued negligence reinforces our belief: drastic action is needed to reclaim our city's stability and our trust in the council. With disregard for the constituents they serve, a vote of no confidence against Whittier City Council is a clarion call necessary for reclaiming the promise of good governance.
A vote of no confidence is a legal provision that empowers voters to express our dissatisfaction with the current council and enforce better governance. We are not powerless. It's time for our outcry to echo in the halls of the council chamber, to spur them towards action and not remain locked in complacency.
Join us as we bring our concerns to the forefront. We need to send a strong message to our City Council—that we, the people of Whittier, demand better. It's time for our voices to be heard and our city to flourish once more. Please sign this petition and let us show our collective vote of no confidence against the Whittier City Council (with the exception on Councilwoman Pacheco).
