I am the parent of two wonderful children who attend school in the West Seneca district. Under the proposed short-term redistricting plan, my daughter and son will be forced to transition through three different schools in a very short period. As any parent can understand, this is incredibly concerning for the mental well-being of not only my kids but all the children who will be affected by these unnecessary transitions.

The proposed long-term redistricting plan is a much more stable and sustainable solution. It aims to create lasting changes that truly focus on the well-being and educational success of our children. It seems absolutely wasteful and irresponsible to divert our focus and resources to a short-term solution that disregards the considerable stress and instability it would cause for our students.

We must prioritize the mental health and emotional stability of our children by standing against this unnecessary short-term plan. The mindfulness of long-term plans gives our children the consistency and security they need to flourish academically and socially.

Therefore, I urge the members of our community, fellow parents, and stakeholders in the West Seneca area to come together and speak out against this short-term redistricting plan.
