Voice Your Concern That the Palestinian Flag Was Raised at Toronto City Hall!
The Issue
The Palestinian flag was raised at Toronto City Hall on November 17, 2025 - further evidence that our elected officials endorse a hate based movement that specifically targets our Jewish community.
In spite of the heated debate among the residents of our diverse and multicultural city, all debate was quashed to permit this to happen.
The importance of freedom of expression and the realities of cultural and political diversity cannot be denied, but this gesture represented a political statement that does not align with the values of many Torontonians, and elevates resentment for a council that has consistently turned a blind eye to the rise of racism and antisemetism in this city.
Toronto has embraced cultures from every corner of the globe, and our City Hall should always be a neutral ground that represents our civil, caring and secular society. Raising a flag associated with a group that has targetted neighbourhoods, blocked our streets, damaged infrastructure, and drained police assets is not consistent with our values. It can only cause division and tension among our citizens.
The decision to fly any flag must respect the community's feelings and views, ensuring that City Hall remains a place of unity, not discord. To meet this objective we must acknowledge our city's rich multicultural fabric without prioritising one perspective over another. We need forums, dialogues and events that invite inclusive discussions, pave the way for understanding and cooperation among all Toronto's ethnic groups.
We call upon city officials to revise the process that considers any decision to raise a non-Canadian flag at Toronto City Hall and explore other means to foster debate, dialogue and unity that do not risk alienating segments of our cherished community. Let us remain committed to preserving Toronto's unity and cultural richness by placing equal importance on all cultural narratives.
We urge you to stand with us in promoting an inclusive Toronto that respects and honours the diversity of our entire population, ensuring our city hall remains a shining symbol of unity.
Please sign this petition by December 7 to have it tabled at City Council Meetings on December 16, 17 & 17.
Voice your support for an alternative path that embraces all perspectives free from any attack on the freedoms of others.
