Master Of Labour Welfare (MLW) course is running in VNSGU since 1995. In factories act also this course is being recognised for the position of labour welfare officer.
According to that any factory where more than 500 workers are working there should be a labour welfare officer. Eligibility for becoming labour welfare officer is MSW/MLW OR LLB.
In Gujarat state, there are only two universities which are providing this course. One of them is Veer Narmad South Gujarat University.
In this week it was announced that there will be a change in the name of the course from Mlw to Ma in labour welfare. This change will directly affect all past, present and future students of this course as well as there will be a difficulty for them to find jobs also and they will not eligible to become labour welfare officer till the new amendment comes in factories act.
