Provide Dubbing and Accurate Subbing for Underrated Anime Series

The Issue

This is a petition to the licensing and recording studios (i.e. Viz Media, Sentai Filmworks, Aniplex of America, Bang Zoom! Entertainment, Discotek Media, Netflix, Ocean Productions, NYAV Post, Studiopolis) to dub twenty-six different animes that have not been dubbed in English as well as to provide accurate subbing as some of the series on this list were never picked up for licensing leaving some of the series to be fansubbed or not subbed at all.

Here are the series listed below:

Ashita no Joe 1 & 2 (1970 - 1981) Before Megalo Box and before Hajime no Ippo, there was Ashita no Joe, aka "Tomorrow’s Joe" the godfather of boxing mangas and animes. Joe Yabuki a drifter turned boxer with a career as a Bantamweight. Joe Yabuki is pretty much Japanese Rocky Balboa with his “Ain’t backing down, keep on fighting” attitude and his willpower, this is one boxer who you cannot knock out of the ring, you’re welcome to try but you’ll be the one getting a KO. The series' popularity has gone so far as to have two live-action films, a multitude of video games, a stage play, and even a radio drama of all things. Even Kenji Kamiyama director for Ghost in the Shell SAC says in his own opinion that it’s one of the best anime of all time. It even is considered to be an influential series with so many anime and manga series over the years referencing it. There is a lot of drama in the series, a lot of what goes on outside the ring, very heavy and shocking what happens in Joe’s life outside his boxing career.

Astro Fighter Sunred (2008 - 2010) This series is a real satire on the Sentai series, before Saitama and One Punch Man, there was Astro Fighter Sunred the worlds lamest sentai hero! A sentai hero who can take anyone and anything down without even breaking a sweat, that is whenever he wants to. Sunred is just an unemployed rude, angry, lazy guy who spends his days smoking, playing pachinko, and watching TV while living off on his girlfriend. It’s even more more ironic considering the villain General Vamp is a real sweetheart who likes to cook and treats his minions with the most up care and respect and is even good friends with Sunreds girlfriend. In the world of Astro Fighter Sunred even the villains have part time jobs, Sunred also tries to find a job but he just has no luck in getting one. The funny thing is all General Vamp wants is a hero-villain rivalry with Sunred like a Batman-Joker or a Fantastic 4-Dr. Doom rivalry but Sunred just isn’t interested, he just fights wearing a t-shirt, shorts and sandals and no spandex gear with an exception of a helmet and he doesn’t even use powers just uses his super strength and just whoops the minions General Vamp throws at him and just barks General Vamp’s ear off about it. Sunred is just a superhero who really doesn’t care other than just being lazy and doing what he wants as he wastes his life away. Astro Fighter Sunred is a really hilarious anime that would certainly peak the interest of not only anime fans but also fans of the sentai genre. Each episode is short at a runtime of thirteen minutes compared to a regular twenty-four minute episode in any other anime series.

Beelzebub (2011 - 2012) A whacky and truly bizarre series that needs some attention in the west. The series stars Tatsumi Oga, a first-year delinquent student at Ishiyama High, a school for juvenile delinquents. One day after winning a fight close to a river, he finds a man who appears dead and doing something good he pulls the man to shore till all of a sudden the man's chest is ripped open, and what comes out you may ask….a baby, not just any baby oh no this baby is Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV, or for short just Beelzebub or Baby Beel and is the son of the great demon king. Oga has been chosen to raise Baby Beel while on Earth with the help of Hildegarde “Hilda”, the baby’s maid, and Oga can’t refuse to be Baby Beel’s father as he would be killed if he refuses to raise Baby Beel. Oh and by the way don’t make Baby Beel sad or upset his tantrums aren’t your typical baby tantrums as when he has a tantrum everyone within proximity to him gets electrocuted especially when Oga is a certain distance away from Baby Beel. So it’s a story of a delinquent teen boy balancing between being a student and (without having a choice) being a parent to a demon baby and going on various adventures resulting in fights with other delinquent students and other events that just lead up to “wrong place at the wrong time” moments. Oga, Baby Beel, and Hilda aren’t the only ones going on these hilariously insane adventures as joining alongside with them are Takayuki Furuichi, Oga’s friend and the only good student at the delinquent school, and last but certainly not least there’s Batim do Emuna Alaindelon, one of the most bizarre and unpredictable anime characters you will ever see in your life.

Brave 10 (2012) Set during the Warring States period of Japan, just a year before the Battle of Sekigahara. The series revolves around Kirigakure Saizou, an Iga Ninja in search of his life's path who comes across Isanami, an Izumo shrine maiden, being attacked by assassins. Isanami, who survived the burning of Izumo Temple by Tokugawa Ieyasu's forces, is traveling to Shinshuu to seek sanctuary with Sanada Yukimura. At the same time, Sanada Yukimura is gathering 10 subjects of extraordinary valor, the Sanada Ten Braves, whose combined strength will allow them to alter the course of history. During the continuing battles, the mysterious power hidden within Isanami will awaken soon. Till then the series begins to pile up forming the ten ninja warriors going in to battle and taking names. Very similar in a way of anime taking place in historic times but with a story of its own much like how Rurouni Kenshin takes place during the Meiji Era or Samurai Champloo during the Tokugawa era featuring real historical figures and events but also being unrealistic but that’s fine, it’s more fun and entertaining when it’s unrealistic. A really good cast of characters during an era of ninjas and samurai’s you’re bound to see some serious action for sure. It's very similar to series like Naruto, Afro Samurai, Ninja Scroll, and Sengoku Basara it’s that level of action awesomeness.

Cat’s Eye (1983 - 1985) The plot involves the Kisugi sisters who in the day are workers in a cafe and at night they are the Cat’s Eye, a trio of highly skilled art thieves stealing works of art that primarily belonged to their long-missing father, Michael Heinz, a famous art collector during the Nazi regime era. However, these girls don’t have an easy time getting the art as they're on the run from Tokyo’s finest whether it’s the typical Tokyo PD, special investigators, or bounty hunters, these girls always manage to slip away and could certainly rival Lupin and his gang. They even have a crossover film with Lupin III himself. The Kisugi sisters are among some of the most influential and awesome female protagonists of manga/anime series their practically up there with the likes of Mikasa Ackerman, Motoko Kusanagi, and Re-L Mayer. Give this series a watch if you haven’t it’s worth it.

City Hunter (1987 - 1991) A full-blown classic of the 1980s and 90s that is super popular in Asia and Europe but has little fame in the US. This action-packed buddy-cop anime series has had several spin-offs and live-action series in countries like South Korea and France, even a live-action film from Hong Kong starring Jackie Chan. The series stars Ryo Saeba, a city sweeper private detective working to rid Tokyo of crime as a jack-of-all-trades operation and working any type of job from bodyguard to assassin. However his partner Hideyuki Makimura is killed by an organized crime syndicate leaving behind his sister Kaori Makimura whom Ryo promises to help take care of. With that being said Ryo makes his pursuit to avenge his fallen partner and to keep on ridding the streets of Tokyo of crime with Kaori as his new partner and armed with his iconic weapon, his Colt Python .357 magnum and with it he is one hell of a shot, he is so good at taking out his targets that you just want to see him have a classic wild west shoot out with Golgo 13 or Vash the Stampede. One thing about Ryo aside from being an ass-kicking gunslinging detective is that he is a major pervert you would swear he’s probably the grandson of Master Roshi, the son of Jiraiya, brother of Sanji, and the father of Mineta, he's that perverted! but Kaori always knocks some sense into him with her 100-ton hammer. Ryo takes on all types of threats from the typical run-of-the-mill thugs to tough-as-nails organized mobsters to hardcore assassins, delivering justice one bullet at a time. A fun fact, the series (manga and anime) share the same universe as Cat's Eye which is no surprise as both series were done by Tsukasa Hojo, there’s even a crossover film of both series “City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes”.

Cobra (Space Cobra 1982 - 1983; Cobra the Animation OVA's & TV series 2008 - 2010) The series is about the adventures of Cobra, a wise-cracking, cigar-smoking, lady killer space pirate. This action-packed sci-fi series is unlike most anime fans have ever seen, a series consisting of lots of action, a killer soundtrack, sexy women, and fantastic characters, especially the main character Cobra. He's a space pirate who deals with all types of foes regularly such as other space pirates, bounty hunters, intergalactic drug cartels, and just all types of threats who want a piece of him and he takes them all on with his fists, his colt python pistol and his iconic weapon the Psychogun! basically his left arm is a freaking cannon powered by his own will. Another notable thing about Cobra is that he's American, and he's not even a stereotype as how a lot of Americans are portrayed in anime. He is inspired and based on French actor Jean-Paul Belmondo (which is why Cobra is very popular in France) with also a mix of characters such as James Bond and Han Solo. With his goofy as well as his live for adventure attitude and personality you can see him back to back with other figures of similar structure such as Lupin III and Spike Spiegel, speaking of which Cobra has influenced notable series and characters such as Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy and was the inspiration for Dante in the Devil May Cry games.

Eat-Man (1997 - 1998) The series involves the protagonist Bolt Crank (Eat-Man), a man of few words with a mysterious past who works as an “explorer” of sorts pretty much a mercenary. His abilities with his job as an explorer is...well in literal context he can eat anything, literally he can eat anything from hardwood to full-blown metal and to other things that would most likely break your teeth, break your jaw, and upset your stomach and then he can reproduce whatever he ate at will similar to Kirby or Doraemon. Eat-Man is a very strange and unique concept of a series as the series is a real mix of the genres of science fiction and fantasy where the world of Eat-Man is cyberpunk with advanced technology and weapons with a mix of fairy tale with mythical creatures and magic. Overall Eat-Man is a series that is really underrated even when it came out on both manga and anime platforms it was still underrated and is definitely a recommendation to any anime fan of action, fantasy, and science fiction.

Golden Bat (1967 - 1968) The oldest series on this petition, the plot involves a scientist professor Yamatone and his group while researching in Antarctica in their highly advanced saucer shaped craft, a ship nearby is attacked by a giant sea monster with a young girl as the only survivor of the attack. When professor Yamatone and his group rescue her and escape the monster, they end up crash landing into the lost city of Atlantis where while exploring they find a golden coffin and the young girl who held onto her father’s book that had research and instructions in which they perform on the coffin and thus reviving a being who has been asleep for ten thousand years, and that being is Golden Bat. After awakening, Golden Bat begins his crusade defending the world from many threats  and disasters especially from the evil Dr. Nazo, a scientist who’s hellbent on world domination as well as destruction. The series has everything giant monsters, battles between science and magic, and pretty much an all around butt kicking superhero who is pretty much invincible, has every power you could think of and just laughs in your face every time. Golden Bat came out around the same time as Speed Racer and the original Dororo series, an underrated classic era of 1960s anime.

Hell Teacher Nube (TV series, films, OVA's from 1996 - 1999, and 2025 remake series) A comedy horror series that revolves around Meisuke Nueno also known as Nube, a fifth-grade elementary school teacher by day and an exorcist by night. He fights off evil spirits and yokai while armed with various tools exorcising demons with his most iconic weapon his left hand being called the “Oni no Te”, after a battle with a yokai he had to seal its power in his left hand turning it into a hideously looking purple claw. The school is always under attack by some form of spiritual entity that wishes to bring harm to both staff and students but Nube isn’t going to let that happen, not on his watch. Each episode it’s a different spirit/demon freakier and sadistic than the last and each episode does end with an important moral lesson that makes you think about it. It may be a horror blended with a comedy but the horror aspect really shows as some episodes do have disturbing moments at times but there is always the comedic relief that appears whether from Meisuke himself with his clumsy or sporadic personality or from his various coworkers and students.

Hitman Reborn! (2006 - 2010) An underrated series that a certain number of anime fans outside of Japan know about but regardless is still unknown to a lot of people. The plot of the series involves middle school student Tsunayoshi “Tsuna” Sawada, a kid who lacks-self confidence practically a spineless wimp failing in school and can’t get around in life. That all changes when he meets Reborn, a two-year-old mafia gangster who comes to inform him he is to become the tenth boss of the Vongola Family, a notorious mafia family in Italy since Tsuna’s great-great-grandfather is the first boss of the family having moved from Italy to Japan. Tsuna is not alone when engaging in combat, as Reborn comes to help guide him through the troubles he goes through and helps to get him on his feet and he has his friends at his side who grow to become part of his ‘family’ consisting of having powers and abilities of various natural elements. It’s a different take on the classic ‘coming of age' story, to say the least. Tsuna is one of the most underrated manga/anime heroes and honestly he's up there with figures such as Naruto, Luffy, Ichigo, Goku, and Natsu for his adventurous attitude and his will to do the right thing while having different challenges and struggles on his shoulders along with his comrades.

Inuyashiki (2017) The series involves Ichirou Inuyashiki, an old man dying from cancer and dealing with an uncaring family. He is killed in an accident at a park from what you may ask? How about an alien spaceship that crashes down on him and revives him as a cyborg. With his new body, he struggles as there are things he can't do as a human such as tasting and feeling but however he decides to use his newfound robotic body for good and to help the lives of others. However, he wasn't alone that day in the park, as a teenager named Hiro Shishigami was also present when the UFO crashed killing and reviving him as a cyborg much like Inuyashiki however, he uses his robotic body for evil killing people with only a finger shaping it like a gun and saying "bang" like an evil Chuck Norris. The anime is both a touching and horrifying series, a real tear-jerker and a shocker to audiences with the amount of touching and heartbreaking/warming moments as well as the amount of violence and sheer brutality that occurs within the anime and unlike most anime where the protagonist is that of a pre-teen or a teenager or a young adult, the protagonist is that of an old man and the antagonist is a teenager which is something you rarely see compared to the vast amount of anime with young protagonists and old antagonists, so its a nice change of scenery in terms of plot and character development.

Jungle King Tar-Chan (1993 - 1994) This series is basically Japan's take on the story of Tarzan but knowing Japan they go far and wide with the story and make their version of it. The series is about Tar-chan, a man who was abandoned as an infant in the African savanna and raised by African animals. Tar-chan deals with things that not even Tarzan himself would want to deal with such as fighting martial artists, cyborgs, vampires, and even a clone of himself. Tar-chan's not alone when facing such threats he has his best friend and rival Anabebe, a chimpanzee named Etekichi, his martial artists' friends Pedro Kazmaier and Ryo-Shihan, and of course his loving wife Jane a former model from New York. Tar-chan is a man who values life and is a manly pacifist meaning he puts up a good fight but will not kill as he prefers peace but will fight if necessary to protect others, very much similar to other heroes such as Himura Kenshin and Vash the Stampede. The series is a mix of comedy and seriousness as there are countless humorous moments where Tar-chan will do things such as looking at dirty magazines, peep at women, etc. only to receive a nasty pummel from Jane. Considering the writer for Tar-chan has a dirty sense of humor but also seriousness as he deals with things such as family conflict, war, bloodshed, and death. Nevertheless Jungle King Tar-chan is a perfectly well balanced mix of everything of action, comedy, tragedy, and adventure.

Kinnikuman (1983 - 1986) Kinnikuman is by far a series that has an incredible reputation in Japan, the series has been a big influence and inspiration for countless other manga creators such as the creators of FullMetal Alchemist, Assassination Classroom, Fairy Tail, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, and many more. It even has its own holiday with every Friday the 29th being Kinnikuman Day. The series stars none other than Kinnikuman and his pals in superhero wrestling! Fighting off countless villains while converting them into heroes saving the planet constantly. The arcs throughout the series consist mainly within the Chojin Olympics also known as the Superhuman Olympics where Kinnikuman and his friends battle against countless waves of villains but they always manage to come out on top in the long run. For the record Kinnikuman can be a really weird series it is so weird it could make Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure look like a normal series and that's saying something. Originally instead of it being an action series, it started as a parody of Ultra-Man which was and still is popular in Japan. Kinnikuman is a classic series and pretty much seems to have been a big influence in the manly style of manga and anime also called “manime” of the 1980s, before series such as Fist of the Northstar, Jojo, and Sakigake Otokojuku came along and it’s just a simple but very entertaining series of super-powered muscle men fighting evil and protecting the innocent.

KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops (TV series, specials and anime films 1996 - 2016) A comedy series taking place at the Koban police station in Tokyo starring Kankichi Ryotsu and the various misadventures he and many of the police officers at the station go on and experience. This whacky series will really tickle your funny bone considering the fact that Ryotsu is trying to make some get rich quick schemes since his job underpays him and it always goes wrong and gets him in hot water with the police chief. The series is a full blown comedy consisting of so many running gags, slapstick humor, and other forms of comedic effects the series has on viewers. The police departments members are a wide variety of characters personality-wise and ridiculousness especially with the things they say and do is guaranteed to make anyone laugh, it’s basically almost in the style of a western cartoon where things can go from bad to worse and just screwing up simple tasks. It's pretty much almost an anime version of the Naked Gun and the Police Academy movies it’s that level of a hilarious mess of a police anime. Surprisingly Kochikame is one of the most popular series of all time in Japan and East Asia but is not very well known in the West much like Kinnikuman.

The Laughing Salesman (TV series and specials 1989 -1993 & the 2017 series) A series about Moguro Fukuzou a salesman, but he's not your average salesman, he's the type of salesman who is willing to fill the gaps in your soul and give you a better life if you're ever down on your luck and or going through a hard time. The series is very Tales from the Crypt like as unlike most other anime series which revolve around action, Isekai, magic, and adventure, it just takes place in modern-day Japan in the days of the lives of business/salarymen and women who are lonely, down in the dumps and just want something to help lift their spirits and make their dreams come true. Thus the salesman comes around and gives you what you need to solve all your problems, he does it completely free of charge with the only payment is being a satisfied customer. However, there is a catch, there is a rule the salesman has and it must never be broken which is breaching the conditions of the agreement made with the salesman, and should you ever break that rule, you should expect a nasty punishment at the end of each episode. It's certainly different than most anime series where it's not action-packed nor is it like a comedy or drama involving high school students, it is just about a salesman with abilities and toying with people's lives who eventually get what they deserve for breaking the rule or just the salesman messing with people's lives for no reason at all. Either way, if you come across the salesman, your fate is sealed, my friend.

Macross (all series from 1984 - 2016) The Macross series is a classic mecha anime from the 1980s with several spin-offs and continuations with each series different but still has connections to the story of it. It all takes place after the year 1999 where humans have begun space exploration across and beyond the Milky Way exploring aboard the capital ship “Macross”. The original series “The Super Dimension Fortress Macross” has been dubbed but when it was released in the west the title was changed to Robotech and was made to appeal more to American audiences. The first series in this petition is “Macross: Do You Remember Love?” It's a retelling of the Super Dimension Fortress Macross TV series in movie form that cuts most of the unneeded plot beats for a cohesive story with music that is still covered after decades. The next series “Macross 7” takes place in the year 2045 in a Space Colony, Macross 7 City in which a Rock Band called Fire Bomber and the crew of Battle 7 face off against an alien race that plans to drain "Spiritia" from anyone which would leave anyone who is drained of it will be left in a coma which can be remedied by the power of music. Next, there’s “Macross Frontier” the story of a human space colony fleet trying to find a habitable planet near the center of the Milky Way. The story focuses on three young adults and the events that occur around them as the fleet faces a crisis of alien origin. Finally, there’s “Macross Delta” which is set in the year 2067, eight years after the events of Macross Frontier in a distant part of the Milky Way Galaxy called the Brísingr Globular Cluster, which is plagued by the Vár Syndrome, a mysterious phenomenon which turns people crazy without any clear cause. A team of talented idols, the Walküre, use the power of their songs to calm down the infected by the Vár Syndrome, assisted by the Delta Flight, a team of experienced Valkyrie pilots while facing interference from the Aerial Knights of the Windermere Kingdom, which found a way to exploit the infection in their favor as part of their plan to resume war against the New United Government for control of the Cluster.

Neuro Supernatural Detective (2007 - 2008) The series revolves around high school student Yako Katsuragi, a girl who wants to solve the mystery of her father's murder, and eventually, she makes a partnership with Neuro Nougami, a demon who "eats" mysteries (meaning that he solves mysteries and consumes the negative energy of the culprits leaving them shocked and traumatized), he comes to the human world to feast on mysteries after solving every mystery in the demon world. With him being a demon he has to maintain a low profile, he arranges with Yako where they work together and start up a detective agency solving crimes and cases to satisfy Neuro's hunger and to solve Yako's father's death. The series is created by Yusei Matsui who was the manga artist for Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo as well as the creator of Assassination Classroom which both series have been dubbed in English leaving this underrated gem not dubbed. It is enjoyable in every episode of the series ranging from comedic to serious with a cast of characters you just can't help but love and laugh at. It's a new crime case every episode with a different culprit each more bizarre and freakier than the last but are eventually brought to justice.

The Princess and the Pilot (2011) This one is not a series but a full-length movie based on the light novel of the same name. The plot is that of Charles Karino a pilot of the San Maltilia Airforce who must accompany princess Juana Del Moral flying through enemy lines to her affianced. But Charles soon learns traveling an ocean alone, and into hostile territory, will prove to be a much more dangerous and difficult ordeal than anyone could have expected. This movie is an entertaining tale of action and romance almost like a Romeo & Juliet type of scenario with CGI mixed in with regular animation, not as good as Akira, Steamboy or the Miyazaki movies, but it's still good animation for an hour and thirty-nine minutes.

Rainbow: Nisha Rokubo no Shichinin (2010) Set in the 1950s particularly in 1955 just outside of Tokyo in a prison/school for junior delinquents and the plot mainly involves six junior delinquents ranging between the ages of sixteen to seventeen all incarcerated for minor offenses and their eighteen-year-old mentor as they try to survive Shonan Special Reform School and survive their sentences. During their time in the reformatory, they work together to cope with and survive the cruelty and infringement of Shonan, especially when they have to deal with a cruel and twisted senior guard who takes pleasure in tormenting and harming the young inmates and the head doctor who is a creep abusing many of the inmates. It’s a very tough and disturbing time in the anime especially in 1950s post war Japan which was still recovering socially and economically. The series can be dark and grim but the characters do shed light on how enjoyable they are and how well they work together to survive the prison given that some of them have done crimes that weren’t too bad but still you just wish they weren’t in such a harsh environment and have to deal with the type of people the seven inmates have to put up with to survive. It makes you sit at the edge of your seat hoping they’ll be okay and get through their sentences and see the light of day. What's special about this series is that it is a complete series as the manga ran from 2002 to 2010 and the first episode of the anime came out just three months after the manga ended so this is one of those one seasoned anime's that is not made in the middle of the manga’s run and ending on a cliffhanger even before the manga ends.

Rose of Versailles (1979 - 1980) A historical drama depicting the French royal court at the Palace of Versailles before and during the French Revolution. The story's central character is Oscar Francois de Jarjayes, a Parisian noblewoman who has been raised as a boy to provide her father with a "son" and heir. Oscar is made head of the Royal Guards of Versailles, and his new assignment is to protect and chaperon the new Crown Princess Marie Antoinette. It’s one of those animes that are historic but add their own story to it similar to series such as Samurai Champloo, the Fate series, Brave 10, and to an extent Drifters and given so as we know the French Revolution was a brutal time both in political and social change within the country with the overthrow of the royal family and this anime series depicts that well albeit a little stretched but still good, to say the least.

Sakigake!! Otokojuku (TV series & movie, both released in 1988) Sakigake!! Otokojuku takes place at Otokojuku Private School, the manliest school in Japan. Otokojuku is a school for dropouts and delinquents where they are taught how to be true men and to revive the "Spirit of Japan" and lead it through the fields of culture, politics, economics, industry, and business. The series stars Tsurugi Momotaro the head of the first-year students, Togashi Genji the brawler, the hard-headed Ryuji Toramaru, the American boxer J, the comedic relief trio Matsuo, Tazawa, and Hidemaro, and the timid Tsubakiyama. Along with them is also Edajima Heihachi, former Navy Rear Admiral and current principal of Otokojuku, and let's just say he's the type of principal whose office you do not want to be sent to. At Otokojuku the activities and events the students participate in would make military school look like a summer sleep-away camp where Otokojuku students go through torturous antics such as sitting in giant burning pots, playing rugby with weapons and other offensive objects, doing push-ups above spike beds, having major brawls, sword duels, martial arts tournaments and just anything that would make most tough guys not even last a day at Otokojuku. If you want to be a real man then Otokojuku is the school for you! The series is all-around entertaining it's up there with the likes of Fist of the Northstar and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure in terms of story and great characters. The series has it all comedy, martial arts, action, and full-blown testosterone heavy manliness, something you rarely or never see in anime nowadays, a big recommendation for western, pretty much international audiences and it'll blow their minds.

Star Driver (2010 - 2011) The series takes place in the Southern Cross Isle where suddenly a boy by the name of Takuto Tsunashi washes ashore on the beach and later on he enrolls as a freshman at the local high school, making friends and doing assemblies pretty much like any typical high school type of anime, however, there’s a twist to this there is an evil organization known as the Kiraboshi Order of the Cross or simply known as the Glittering Crux Brigade and what they are after is actually beneath the school and pretty much beneath the Southern Isles and what they are looking are these giant mechanized suits known as Cybodies, they are these stone giants that can transform into gigantic fighting humanoids but however, it is only in a realm known as the “Zero Time” and the organization plans to use these cybodies by bringing them into the real world and use them as weapons of war. However in order for them to do that they must break the four pillars that the shrine maidens of the islands protect. The Crux along the way have broken one and are on their way to break the others, Takuto steps in and helps to protect the maidens and stop the Crux. Going by his title name “Intergalactic Pretty Boy”, armed with his own Cybody he holds his ground fighting back, against the Crux. This is one of those fast-paced action-packed animes that’ll take your mind for a spin with a lot of action, combat, and weaponry the show has plenty to supply and it does not disappoint with also smooth animations, a fantastic soundtrack, and a lot of adult humor so it’s not recommended for kids whatsoever. This is a really underrated anime that takes you back to the old days of mecha animes of the 80s and 90s given its scenario of robots fighting like humans in a way its almost as if its paying homage to series such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, the Gundam series, and Eureka Seven.

Tiger Mask (TV series and movie 1969 - 1971) & Tiger Mask W (2016 - 2017) A wrestling anime series that’s in the style of western style wrestling. The series stars Naoto Date, a professional wrestler who comes home to Japan after an extensive career of performing in America as a feared heel wrestler, after coming back home, he is approached by a boy who lives in the same orphanage Naoto grew up in, the boy wants to be a villain like him, this shocks Naoto as he doesn’t want the boy to idolize him as a villain, as he wanted Tiger Mask to be seen as a hero. At the same time Naoto’s past comes back to haunt him as a Tigers Den, a villainous organization has him in their sights. With him returned he’s gotta watch his back for assassins and other wrestlers hired by Tigers Den who want his head. Tiger Mask eventually has a sequel titled Tiger Mask W which takes place forty years after the original series with new characters and beautiful animation for newer generation of anime fans with some intense fight scenes compared to the original 60s/70s series, you don't see western style wrestling animes very much but this gem of a series would peak your interests in the adventures of the fame Tiger Mask himself and the challenges he faces both in the ring and outside the ring.

Valvrave the Liberator (2013) A mecha anime series that takes place in a dystopian distant future taking place in the year True Calendar year 71 where in a new age 70% of the population lives in space just outside Earth’s atmosphere. There are two powers that divide the world and they are the Dorssia Military Pact Federation and the other power is the Atlantic Ring United States (ARUS) with both sides at war both on Earth and in space. However, outside these two world powers is a third neutral nation simply known as JIOR which consists of Japan and many of the island nations of the Pacific living peacefully and prospering economically. The story revolves around Haruto Tokishima a highschool student who like everyone else in JIOR lived regularly normal lives that is until however an invasion by the Dorssian Military occurs so while Haruto and his friends and classmates attempt to escape from Dorssian forces, he discovers that under the highschool mecha units called “Valvraves” are hidden down there, with his friends in danger from Dorssian forces he hops into one of the mech units and seals a contract with it where it’ll give him its power in exchange for his humanity. He’s not alone though as his friends join with him getting into other Valvrave mech units with also the help of L-Elf Karlstein an enigmatic Dorssian agent and strategist, they all set their sights to commence a revolution and freeing the world. Now the way it’s story is revolving around like freedom and mecha units and stuff sounds familiar, much like Code Geass and that’s no coincidence as Valvrave was created by Ichiro Okouchi who made Code Geass. Highly recommend this for a lot of people to check out especially those that are fans of Code Geass you can tell it has that way of Ichiro’s style.

07-Ghost (2009) Teito Klein, a former slave turned student of the Barsburg Military Academy just because he possesses a rare and powerful supernatural power which happens to be known as “Zaiphon”. Even with such a power, he is outcasted in the academy for being a former slave and so he only has one friend Mikage Celestine. On top of that, he is also an amnesiac suffering from nightmares and these nightmares include death in them. The day before graduation he overhears some students talking about, eavesdropping, of course, he catches wind of what they are saying and he finds out that the Chief of Staff, Ayanami is the person who is killing the man in Teito’s dreams and it just happens to be the man who gets killed happens to be Teito’s father, who happens to be the king of the ruined and destroyed Kingdom of Raggs. After getting caught eavesdropping he attempts to attack Ayanami but gets tackled and locked up only to have Mikage help free him and escape. Thus the story begins when Teito manages to escape and is rescued by bishops of the 7th district who help him recover and give him sanctuary and even help him fight back against those of the Barsburg Empire. 07-ghost will remind you of series like Fullmetal Alchemist; Code Geass, Soul Eater, and Akame ga Kill in terms of story, character design, action, and development. The characters have their own quirks that make them unique, enjoyable, and thrilling. It’s also a mix of a lot of different elemental themes such as magic, religion, advanced technology, and set in a science fiction dystopian type of world.

This is for audiences that enjoy anime in the English language and can introduce viewers to series that are criminally underrated and are such action-packed and energetic series. Overall these twenty-six series are very underrated in the west and would most likely attract large fan bases and cult followings should they be approved for dubbing.

Even if you're not a fan of English dub but prefer English sub, it would be helpful to sign the petition as doing so can also help get these animes properly subbed as some of them were never picked up for licensing, therefore, being left to be fansubbed which can be inaccurate or not subbed at all. Plus with the publishing companies gaining the rights to the series, it would help provide viewers easier access to the series as some of them are very difficult to find online, so with it available on the streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc.) It would make it so much easier and safer to access some of the series than having to go online to pirate/illegal websites with the risks of malware and pop-up viruses.
