Visa Extension: 5yrs multi-entry visa for family members with upto 180-days stay per visit

The Issue

Currently, the family members of the expatriates & students (who live in Germany) are allowed to stay only for 90 days on a family visit visa. However, considering unwarranted or certain critical medical situations such as pregnancies, long-term illness, etc. The allotted short-term stay is not sufficient.

Thereby, we request the federal government of Germany to:

Extend the stay of family members up to 180 days per visit and further grant a 5-year multi-entry visa.

Next steps (Plan of Action):

  • Kick off the petition on change.org, and gather support from a wide range of expat communities and like-minded individuals.
  • In accordance with the responses gathered, we formally propose for political motion in SPD Alt-Marzahn.
  • If the proposal is approved, We will propose for motion at the SPD Marzahn-Hellersdorf District board.
  • If the proposal is approved, We will propose for motion at the SPD Berlin State board.
  • If the proposal is approved, We will propose for motion at the SPD Parliamentary board.
  • If the proposal is approved, the SPD Parliament board Proposes for motion at The Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany.
