Good morning!

Today, the first of two Virginia Senate committees will hear Senator Marsden's bill to allow juvenile offenders to apply for parole after serving 20 years of their sentence. It is expected that this committee will pass the bill and the senior committee will take it up. In Virginia, a bill must be passed in two committees before it can come to the floor for a vote. Should the bill survive the Senate, it will then head to the House for action. I will keep you advised of the progress.
