We made the news!

ABC Channel 7 and Channel 8 did a story last night on the cemetery project. The story showed both sides, but the one thing it did not show was that the church has no intentions of keeping the graves intact and on site. The whole argument in voice by the church members and development is the general belief that the graves have already been moved or disturbed, fed by the archaeologist in charge of their removal. I have been a professional archaeologist for over 34 years and I can tell you there is more evidence showing the graves are intact then is showing they are disturbed. I asked three times at a meeting last night, "if the graves are found, and found intact, in their original position, meaning they were never moved are in the location where the Ball family intended them to be placed, then what?" The response from the church and the archaeologist was, then we will move them. I then asked them, "but finding them intact and in their original position would take away your whole position about moving them." The response each time was, the development needs to move them to move on.
There was a second public meeting (everyone calls them a public hearing, but it is only a meeting) last night and a descendant of Horatio Ball (Robert Ball Sr.'s brother), Mrs. Stacey Ahmad, came. Her side of the Ball family only found out about it four days ago. Over 300 member's of her family have signed this petition!
