Break the monopoly of flights from Denpasar (Bali) to Adelaide

0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!

Who doesn't like a holiday away to a little piece of paradise so close to Australia?

Adelaide, South Australia, has a long standing history with direct flights to Bali, Indonesia. Previous operators include, Virgin Australia, Tigerair Australia, Air Paradise and Garuda Indonesia.

However since Virgin Australia passed the route over to its low cost subsidiary Tigerair, and the debacle that soon followed, Tigerair dropped the route in February 2017. Leaving Jetstar (Qantas Group) with the monopoly.

Similarly, once Jetstar had the monopoly on the Darwin to Bali route, airfare prices increased.

2017 statistics show that 131,157 people used the direct route between Adelaide and Denpasar. Adelaide airport has had some of the highest increases in international passenger percentage growth in the last few years.

So, what do we want?

- We want to bring competition to the route, flexibility in service options

- We want to make the journey more adorable to the people of Adelaide and Bali

-  We want to encourage the carriers of Australia and Indonesia to see that there is a demand for additional flights, and we support that!

So I put it to the carriers of Australia and Indonesia (Citilink, Garuda, Lion air, Batik Air, Virgin Australia, Airasia, Tigerair, even Malindo) to look into this, research the viability but also know that the public will support it.

I also encourage you, the traveller, to share this, spread the word and help our community expand our international foot print.
