Subject: Petition to Condemn and Take Action Against Unsafe Drug House

 

We, the undersigned residents of Lima, NY, urgently bring to your attention the severe and persistent concerns regarding the property located at College Street. This residence has become a well-known site for illicit drug activity, resulting in unsafe living conditions, disturbances, and an increased threat to the safety and well-being of our community. The current "homeowner" is in jail, now the home is occupied by squatters.

 

Concerns and Reasons for Condemnation:

 

Illegal Drug Activity: Numerous reports and observations indicate that this property is being used for the distribution and consumption of illegal substances, posing a direct risk to our neighborhood.

 

Unsafe Living Conditions: The property is in a state of extreme disrepair, with unsanitary conditions, structural hazards, and a lack of basic utilities, making it uninhabitable and a danger to both occupants and neighboring residents.

 

Criminal Behavior and Public Disturbance: Frequent police visits, suspicious behavior, and violent altercations have made this location a hotspot for criminal activity, endangering the peace and security of the village.

 

Threat to Children and Families: Many residents, including families with young children, feel unsafe due to the ongoing activities at this property. The risk of exposure to drug-related crime and individuals engaging in illegal activities is unacceptable.

 

Negative Impact on Property Values: The presence of this unsafe house has significantly impacted the value of nearby properties and the overall reputation of our community.

 

Requested Actions:
