We the people of Port Orchard, Washington hereby demand that the Village Greens Golf Course immediately build a safety fence at the back of their driver range bordering Madrona Drive SE. Currently, there is no safety netting designed to prevent golf balls from exiting the golf course. This blatant negligence has caused property damage and due to the severity of that damage, the safety of the people living and walking in the surrounding community is at serious risk.

This petition was inspired because two golf balls damaged the same windshield in the space of 11 days. Due to the extent of the damage, any person walking along Madrona Drive SE could be severely injured or killed if they are the unfortunate target of one of these out of control golf balls. A regulation height safety net will prevent these dangers. 

Although this danger could be easily and quickly mitigated, the owner of the golf course has been resistant to installing such a fence, or even providing the company's insurance information to rectify the damage this lack of safety oversight has already caused.

With your help, we can ensure that our community is safe for the pedestrians who walk their dogs, the mothers who push their baby strollers, the little old ladies trying to stay healthy, and the hard working people who use the Madrona Drive SE bus stop.
