Change the policy on who is allowed in the fitting rooms when customers are shopping or getting fitted for brassieres.
The Issue
When shopping with my fiancee at Victoria Secret in Galleria Mall Fort Lauderdale, FL. I wanted to be sized for the appropriate bra cup/size. The staff waa really friendly and did a good job however, when going into the fitting room I asked if my fiancee (female) could come in with me to help me choose the appropriate size and fit and I was informed by the sales associate that if she wasn't my mother or daughter she couldn't come in the fitting room with me. Now, I don't see how it matters if we are mother/daughter, sister/cousin or even roommates. She and I are both females and it is a a female boutique. So therefore, there should be no discrimination against same sex partners and fitting room policy. As long as both patrons are females & in the same party are shopping together then one should not be asked to leave.
I honestly believe had my fiancee been dressed like myself (feminine) then there would not have been a issue. I was offended and had to be inconvenienced by having to frequently open my dressing room door to the public to get her opinion on the fit & make of the bra. We still patronized Victoria Secrets and we were very satisfied with the product but, not with the shopping experience. I felt discriminated against because we were a same sex couple and I feel Victoria Secret needs to adjust their policy especially if same sex couples are going to spend their hard earned money in their stores.
Thank you,
Marsha
