Dear Supporters,
For the first time in the history of the horse carriage industry in Victoria, those advocating for a ban have something to be happy about.
Today, Victoria city council passed a motion that will engage staff in investigating including phasing out and banning horse carriages in the city's strategic plan. This is not a ban, but it is a first step in the right direction and a huge moment for us. With this motion passed, there will now be another vote in September about whether to include the phasing out and banning of horse carriages in the strategic plan.
If this motion hadn't passed, we would be back at square one with no progress made. While the motion may be small, it is a huge first step.
We are committed to the seeing this through to the end and until every horse is off city streets. We have a long way to go, but with your ongoing support we will ban this industry once and for all.
We wanted to share the news with you about this development. Thank you for signing and sharing this petition for the horses.
Sincerely,
Jordan Reichert
