Spirit of Gold should perform at Vanderbilt's Homecoming halftime
This petition made change with 5,280 supporters!
Vanderbilt's Spirit of Gold Marching Band was recently informed by Vanderbilt administration that they will not be allowed to perform at halftime of this year's Homecoming game. Instead, the visiting Tennessee State University Band will be performing a halftime show.
As Vanderbilt alumni and fans, we implore Vice Chancellor David Williams and Chancellor Nick Zeppos to reverse this decision, allowing the Spirit of Gold to perform at our Homecoming halftime.
Year after year, game after game, we come to the game to cheer for the Black and Gold. We come to hear the band lead us in a rousing rendition of "Dynamite." We come to cheer "Vandy! Vandy! Oh hell yeah!" We come to the stadium for the full game day experience, of which the Spirit of Gold is an integral part.
Please join us as in asking Vice Chancellor Williams and Chancellor Zeppos to reverse this decision and allow the Spirit of Gold to perform in their rightful time slot at halftime of this year's Vanderbilt Homecoming.
