I am creating this petition to introduce a bill to allows vending machines to accept EBT cards as payments.  Due to COVID there has been an increase in food insecurity throughout the United States.  One of the many ways to combat food insecurity has been increases in monthly EBT food stamp payments. Many families rely on EBT payments to compensate for their decrease in income due to the pandemic. This will help not only the poor but yet the middle class and more who rely on EBT for majority of their food.  

Food and snack vending machines accept many forms of payment such as cash, credit cards and phone devices and has credit card information stores in it.  

However there is no vending machine that accepts EBT as payment. Vending machines were placed with food all over the world using many different forms of payments, except the one platform that was created to help benefit the environment with cost of food. 

This new form of payments that will be accepted at vending machines will help bridge the gap of the food insecurity crisis. 

Vending machines that accept EBT will help struggling families have easy access to drinks and snacks even meals when they are struggling financially and low on cash. 

EBT is specifically for food items as other payment methods can be used for more important issues/circumstances.

Vending machines accepting EBT eliminates person to person contact reducing the transmission of COVID.
