Superdrug has announced plans to stop selling Disposable vapes in all of it’s UK stores.

They plan to have all of their stock of these vapes cleared from all of its stores by the end of this year. They sell an average of 1,300 of these vapes each week, they have never sold them on-line. The reason for this bold decision is Superdrug’s concern that FIVE MILLION of these disposable vapes are now dumped, mainly by children, every week in the UK.

Ghada Beal, Superdrug’s health director, said “We need to be responsible about the growing trend in disposable vapes among young people, and the lasting effect on the environment.”

The two of the UK’s four biggest supermarkets Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, appear to have no such concerns about disposable vapes damaging the health of our teens, or the environmental impact. They are increasing the promotion of vaping products, to increase their sales. They  have  moved vaping products from their staffed tobacco counters, out into the isles and end of isles. This cynical move sends out the message that vapes are not highly addictive drugs, so no more harmful than shaving or teeth cleaning products. The photo above shows how Sainsbury's are super-marketing all vaping.

Interestingly, the biggest rivals to the big four supermarkets, Lidl and Aldi, manage to be highly profitable without selling any tobacco, vaping products, that are so damaging to our health, because of their highly addictive Nicotine content.
