The Scottish Drugs Minister Elena Whitham said “we must never underestimate the scale of the challenge we continue to face, including responding to new threats such as synthetic opioids and stimulant drug use”. In amongst the statistics nearly 30% - 371 of the deaths were from cocaine one of the most powerful stimulants. 

This petition is about preventing children and young people form addiction to the more mild stimulant - Nicotine, by using  Single-Use Vapes. Once people get addicted to one stimulant they build a tolerance to it. In time some of them will move on to more and more powerful stimulants. Cocaine is a very powerful stimulant and the deaths associated with it are caused by people mixing cocaine a stimulant with alcohol a depressant. This mixture of drugs creates a third drug called cocaethylene, which slows down our heart rate and breathing. This can be fatal.
