A Truman student’s senior quote was inappropriate but it managed to still get published in their yearbook; as a result every Independence High School has to suffer because of these consequences. A senior quote is our last chance to say a final goodbye. It is a projection of ourselves printed on paper, and to take that away due to one student’s negligence is cruel and inhumane. The high schools should not be punished as a result of singular mistake.

The solution is stricter policies; not removal of tradition entirely.

Please support not only the school, but the students it holds. The peers, the teachers, and the staff that work so hard!!
