USOPC: Support Race Imboden and allow athletes free expression

USOPC: Support Race Imboden and allow athletes free expression
The Issue
Because Race Imboden knelt in protest during the award ceremony at the 2019 Pan-Am Games, the USOPC may impose sanctions on him which may prevent him from competing internationally, including at the 2020 Olympics.
Many in the US fencing community support Mr. Imboden's message, and many more believe that the principle of free expression is intrinsic to the spirit of America and should not be restricted.
We ask the USPOC to refrain from applying sanctions to Mr. Imboden (as well as hammer thrower Gwen Berry, who also protested at the Games) and to remove the language from their athlete agreements which disallows respectful expressions of principled protest during international competition.
