Heart disease is the leading cause of death for most ethnicities in America. With so many public places already required to have on-site AED units, its astounding to learn that the retail titan, Walmart, does not mandate the presence of these lifesaving devices in their many stores across the nation. 

In life-or-death cardiac emergencies, AED units play a key role in ensuring a patients survival. While CPR may assist in offsetting the most immediate effects of a heart attack, only the electric shocks from an AED can reliably return a patients heart to a normal rhythm.

To ensure the health and safety of the many people who frequent our stores, we the customers, associates, and administrative staff of Walmart, put forth the following as our requests:

• A universal deployment of AED units across all Walmart stores.
• A revised policy on first aid and CPR procedures.
• A plan which provides each store with CPR trained staff 24/7

For the sake of those who have pre-existing heart conditions, and for those who do not yet know it, sign this petition so that when the time comes, we will be prepared to handle the situation.
