USC – Summer GE credit at Community Colleges
USC – Summer GE credit at Community Colleges
The Issue
Given the uncertain duration of the pandemic, many students who have had internships canceled or were planning to take summer courses at USC are now stuck in limbo. USC's current policy is that no core GE courses may be taken at a community college and transferred for credit after a student matriculates at the university. As summer courses around the country are likely to be online as well, USC should grant students an exception this year to take GE courses at any (accredited) community college. This would provide many students with a good alternative to make the most of a disrupted summer.
