We, concerned Ethiopian Americans urgently request you speak up against the far-left extremist regime murdering our families in Ethiopia. We express deep distress over the lack of swift action by US officials who’ve been funding a terrorist ideology and its sponsors controlling Ethiopia for far too long. US support of Ethiopia’s regime is enabling terror on 120 million citizens whose history, culture and Christianity these terrorists aim to erase.   

In the last 30 years, the US funded a Stalinist and Al Shabab-like identity extremist TPLF regime in Ethiopia to the tune of $40 billion in the name of “aid to Ethiopia.” This indirectly enabled their terrorist ideology and criminal manifesto to take hold and be forced on society behind the vail of “ethnic-federalism constitution”.  After the people fought against it and removed the TPLF in 2018, a more extremist sister party the TPLF created, the ODP/OLF led by the current Oromo identity radical Abiy Ahmed, was negotiated in by the U.S. This recapture of Ethiopia’s government by the same ideology and a linked group that has been demonizing the majority of Ethiopians, Amhara ethnic people, Orthodox Christians and their culture effectively began openly beheading them.  The TPLF and OLF had already established a well oiled self-victimizing propaganda to control its largest financier, the US government, while building a multibillion dollar franchise laundering aid and western remittances back to the US to buy US assets and influence behind the scene, and with the help of diaspora communities they bribe.  This new sister group can use the same infrastructure to fast-track more evil and loot more money while US liberal media the TPLF infiltrated and lobbyists TPLF paid over 30 years continue selling TPLF/OLF's terrorism as "minority liberation".  

Today regime-backed terrorist mobs regularly behead Orthodox Christians, rape children, women and the elderly, and dismember citizens alive to terrorize them into submission, especially targeting the Amhara ethnic group they fear. Similarly, the government is personally directing drone attacks on civilians while waging war to disarm citizens from communities it targets to prevent them from defending themselves.  So far, the government has murdered, forcefully evicted and displaced over 5 million citizens, have looted US food aid it sold in Kenya and other neighboring countries as it weaponizes starvation, has blocked Amhara citizens from moving freely in their own country, and is regularly disappearing, assassinating, jailing and torturing hundreds of thousands in hidden concentration camps. 

The horror unfolding in Ethiopia today is unimaginable by any world standard and is escalating by the day by a regime that uses US and western aid to fund its evil and enrich itself, including building assets in the USA.   The US and its media often dismiss these horrors and the states extrajudicial murders by citing the terrorists manifesto as "the constitution" for justification, as if a government is entitled to terrorize its citizens as long as it bakes its terrorism in a so-called constitution. Notably today, any thinking person including American lawyers with intimate knowledge agree that this document is a blueprint for terrorism. So, the US and the various think tanks we rely on are indirectly expanding terrorism in Ethiopia and even, potentially, importing it to America.

The US financial support for the TPLF has resulted in the rise of a wealthy class of terrorists in a peaceful country surrounded by Islamic fundamentalists. It has facilitated the Chinese invasion through loans and hundreds of Chinese-owned businesses, contrary to American interests. Today, the regime triggers Russia and China as a strategy to silence the US and it works – as supposed American negotiators, such as Mike Hammer and Secretary Blinken, still continue to enable and finance this state-led extremism and terrorist ideology.   The Biden administration is also influenced by a foreign policy advisor, Yohannes Abraham with ties to these extremists. The WHO is also taken, led by Tedros Adhanom, a senior TPLF official. We believe that US support for these groups and their ideology raises suspicions of corruption and illegal campaign contributions. This situation deeply concerns us.

We strongly urge you, our US representative in government, to lead the west and change the situation in Ethiopia. You must end western support of these terrorists hiding behind made up victim politics to murder civilians. You must lead to revers America’s misguided policy, call for the investigation of corruption within the ranks of US officials and call for an immediate removal of the terrorist manifesto forced into the country as “constitution” to cover state crimes. As Ethiopians largest financier, the US has the power and responsibility to lead the west in urgently changing the situation and holding the perpetrators controlling the state (the ODP, OLF and TPLF) accountable. Not only is this the right thing to do, but not doing so at this critical time now ruins America’s credibility with over 1 billion people – irretrievably.
