Why this petition matters

Started by Eric Planey

Late in 2021, the U.S. Postal Service awarded a contract to Oshkosh to modernize its fleet of delivery vehicles. Amazingly, Oshkosh and the USPS confirmed that 90% of the new vehicles will be conventional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles, while ONLY 10% will be electric. This led the US EPA to send a letter to the USPS calling the proposal "SERIOUSLY DEFICIENT." This petition will call on the USPS and Oshkosh to revise the proposal that every vehicle has to be a mix of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). The range for the battery on the PHEV should be targeted to be 5 miles greater than the average miles conducted daily by a delivery vehicle
