Urging Singapore's condemnation on Israel's death penalty law against Palestinians.

Urging Singapore's condemnation on Israel's death penalty law against Palestinians.
The Issue
On 30 March 2026, the Israeli Cabinet passed a bill legalising default death penalty exclusively for Palestinians convicted of "terror offences". (Al Jazeera, 2026).
I'm putting forth an official petition to ask Singapore to join the international outcry of condemnation and increase pressure to nullify this law.
International organisations including the Human Rights Watch, UN Human Rights Office of High Commissioner and Amnesty International have pushed back on the ruling.
Of major significance is the UK Parliament, who is set to debate on formally opposing this bill after extraordinarily receiving more than 100,000 signatures in Petition.
The contract of this bill severely undermines legal rights of the persecuted, as follows:
"Those sentenced to death would be placed in a separate detention center with no visits allowed except by authorized personnel, and lawyer consultations would be allowed only via video.
The execution must be carried out within 90 days of the decision.
The bill states that the death penalty can be imposed without a request from the prosecution, removes unanimous judge decision previously required for a death sentence, and that the decision will be made by a simple majority." (AA, The Guardian, Al Jazeera)
This is ethnically-targeted killing written as lawful capital execution.
The West Bank is currently illegally occupied by Israel, with extraordinarily high Palestinian conviction rates (up to 96%) from torture and coerced confessions. (HRW, BT’selem)
While Palestinian Oppression on native Palestinian land has been a decades-long cause for global humanitarian concern, settler violence against Palestinians has escalated direly since the start of the "Gaza War" on 7 Oct 2023.
Israeli Settler crimes against Palestinians, including the stealing of land and resources, destruction of property, intimidation, arson and lynching, painfully mirror the dire circumstances we Singaporeans have studied at length in formal education, in history and literature, of Apartheid in America and South Africa.
Humanity has regressed five hundred years.
Continued oppression and the legal failures of protection and justice for Palestinians in Israel coupled with
Strong radicalism sentiment is widespread in the Israeli community and sitting Knesset majority Cabinet places Palestinians in complete vulnerability of this apartheid law.
This legislation is a direct denial of Palestinians’ right to exist.
It is execution legalised for “denying Israel. Israel's current aggressive occupation of Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon, coupled with illegal settler migration, removes Palestinians' rights to defend their space and private property. This can easily be misconstrued into an execution conviction.
This legislation is a direct denial of Palestinians’ right to self-defence.
This legislation can construe any form of fight-back, whether resultant to injury or death, into the certainty of death penalty for Palestinians.
Lastly, the large number of POWS (9500-10,000+) held by Israel are at risk of execution should they be persecuted under this law.
Current circumstances overwhelmingly suggest there will be no reliable check system in place on validity of conviction for accused Palestinians, and due process violations are already flagrant. (UN OHCHR)
Whilst I understand Singapore's difficult position in this, we have the responsibility as global citizens to push back on genocidal persecution.
This law legalises mass killing. For the last seed of humanity.
For all the life already lost and all more we cannot protect.
No different from Gas Chambers.
We have to stop this. Please.
