Following their representation of Argentina in the FIFA World Cup, and after Argentina's victory over England, Cristian Romero and Giovani Lo Celso, both associated with Tottenham Hotspur, and Lisandro Martínez from Manchester United, displayed a banner supporting the Malvinas/Falkland Islands. Such actions stand not just as a breach of sporting conduct but as a direct provocation to the United Kingdom.

As individuals who benefit from the public support and opportunities that the UK labour market provides, it is only fair that their actions be subject to scrutiny, especially when they promote divisive claims against UK sovereignty. The display of the banner was not only disrespectful but also served to fuel political tension. Allowing these players to continue enjoying the privileges of working in the UK undermines our nation’s stance on upholding its territories and dilutes the integrity of our immigration and sponsorship systems.

We urge the relevant UK authorities to take swift action. This includes refusing and revoking all work visa permissions granted to Cristian Romero, Giovani Lo Celso, and Lisandro Martínez. By doing so, the UK will send a clear message that political hostility and exploitation of international platforms for such purposes will not be tolerated.
