This is not merely a campaign for improved testing assessments; it's a personal plea of a parent seeking fairness for children's futures impacted by the grading system of the English Language GCSE Paper by Pearson Edexcel. My own son fell victim to this issue, scoring a grade 4 instead of the needed grade 5, now barred from attending college, thereby stalling his academic trajectory for a year to retake an exam that was inaccurately graded to begin with. Unfair grading practices shred dreams and tarnish futures. Notably, various research points towards an urgent need in reassessing several examination boards, like Pearson Edexcel, to rectify their grading procedures for standardized assessments like GCSE. It's crucial that transparency be maintained for these important academic indicators, setting clear and fair grade boundaries. It's time to confront this systemic issue that's affecting countless children by demanding a reassessment and adjustment of English Language GCSE grade boundaries implemented by Pearson Edexcel.
