The Issue

Who We Are: We are a dedicated group of parents, students, and residents of Fort Bend ISD who are committed to protecting our neighborhood schools and ensuring the academic stability of our children.

The Problem
On December 15, 2025, the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees introduced a draft rezoning proposal that could shutter seven high-performing elementary schools.  This "Long-Range Boundary Planning" process threatens to move thousands of students to new campuses as early as the 2026–2027 school year, disrupting their education and potentially moving them from A-rated campuses to lower-rated facilities.

Why It Matters
The FBISD administration claims these changes are necessary to balance enrollment, but our community is deeply concerned about:

  • Academic Disruption: Rezoning students from top-rated schools to lower-rated campuses undermines their academic progress and the hard work of local educators and students, and possibly risks the loss of Title 1 status and funding said schools receive.
  • Loss of Community: Our schools are the heart of our neighborhoods. FBISD's suggested proposal at our campuses fractures local bonds and risks decreasing property values for long-time residents.
  • Logistics and Safety: These plans force many students onto longer bus routes, increasing commute times and removing the option for many to safely walk to their neighborhood school. Even after all of the efforts to secure traffic lights near the Windsor section on West Bellfort, so that students can WALK to school and save the district thousands in transportation costs.

The Call to Action
With a final board vote expected in March 2026, we must act now. We urge the Fort Bend ISD Board of Trustees to reject the current draft scenarios that involve relocating Aliana residents and ask that they honor the previous SBOC (2018) ideology keeping Aliana together and using the line of demarcation at Madden Road as this is the end of the community and propose alternative plans. We demand that the district seek alternative solutions that prioritize student well-being, mental health, safety and maintain the integrity of our established school communities.
