The Issue

Residents of Knights Reach are increasingly affected by unfair and overly restrictive parking regulations that are preventing friends and family from visiting our homes.

The current visitor parking system, including the 300-hour monthly allowance, is far too restrictive for residents who regularly have guests, carers, family members, or visitors for social occasions and events. Many households are now receiving parking tickets daily simply for having visitors over.

To make matters worse, some roads within Knights Reach do not have any designated visitor bays at all, leaving guests with nowhere reasonable to park. Enforcement officers are also issuing tickets as late as 9pm and 10pm, which is excessive and unreasonable, particularly when the original purpose of the restrictions was to prevent hospital commuter parking, not punish residents and their visitors.

The current system effectively limits households to only a small number of visitors at a time, which is unrealistic for families, celebrations, gatherings, or relatives visiting from outside the area. These restrictions are damaging community life and making residents feel unable to properly welcome guests into their own homes.

We are calling for an urgent review of the parking policy within Knights Reach to ensure it is fair, practical, and supportive of residents.

By signing this petition, you are supporting a fairer parking system that allows residents to enjoy their homes and maintain normal family and social lives without fear of constant parking fines.
