Urgent Petition to German Embassy in Cameroon: Remove Long Waiting Times for Student Visa

The Issue

Dear fellow students, concerned individuals, and supporters,

We, the undersigned, call upon the German Embassy in Cameroon to address the persistently long waiting times for obtaining student visa appointments. It has come to our attention that numerous students and their families are facing significant difficulties in securing timely visa appointments to commence their studies in Germany.

As prospective students in Germany, we rely on a smooth and efficient visa application process to pursue our academic aspirations. Unfortunately, the current waiting times for visa appointments at the embassy are disproportionately lengthy (more than 10 months), resulting in substantial delays in our visa applications and subsequent loss of Student place in various universities and colleges.

The extended waiting period not only negatively impacts our academic careers but also disrupts our plans and investments in Germany. Many of us have spent a lot of money for the applications, already received offers of admission and are ready to embark on our educational journeys. However, the prolonged waiting times for visa appointments impede our ability to take the necessary steps to commence our studies.

We acknowledge that there is a high demand for visa appointments and that the embassy has limited resources. Nevertheless, we urgently implore the German Embassy in Cameroon to take measures to shorten the waiting times and ensure that we can apply for our visas in a timely manner.

We propose that the embassy in Cameroon increases its capacity by hiring additional staff or employing temporary personnel to cope with the high demand during the summer and winter admission periods in Germany. Improving the visa appointment scheduling process, potentially through the utilization of digital solutions, could also contribute to reducing waiting times.

We sincerely hope that our concerns will be taken seriously, and prompt actions will be taken to address the current challenges in visa appointment scheduling. Timely processing of our visa applications is crucial for us to commence our studies in Germany as planned.

We call upon all individuals who share our concerns to support this petition by signing it. Together, let us advocate for a more efficient and student-friendly visa appointment system at the German Embassy in Cameroon.

Signatories to this petition believe that by improving organization, allocating additional resources, and streamlining the visa appointment process, the waiting times for student visa appointments can be significantly reduced.

Thank you for your attention and efforts in resolving this matter. We remain optimistic that through improved processes and enhanced resources, waiting times for student visa appointments can be minimized.

Sincerely,

All parties concerned
