Urgent Need to Tackle Hostile Treatment of India towards Pakistani Cricket Team and Fans

Urgent Need to Tackle Hostile Treatment of India towards Pakistani Cricket Team and Fans
The Issue
As passionate supporters of the Pakistan Cricket Team, it is deeply distressing to witness the hostility by India towards Pakistani Cricket team and its fans. The lack of proper security measures has confined our players to their hotels, preventing them from unwinding their minds after match which is so important to stay sane. For example, outdoor activities like exploring the city and interacting with local cricket enthusiasts.
Additionally, India's reluctance in issuing visas to Pakistani journalists and fans, which hinders their ability to support Pakistan Cricket Team in India, further exacerbates the isolation of the team. It was reported that on the day of Pak vs Ind match (14th October 2023) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad there were one lakh spectators in the stadium out of which only 3 were Pakistani-Americans. During the toss, Babar was interrupted while talking to presenter by the Indian crowd chanting hateful comments. The stadium also turned silent when boundaries were scored by any Pakistani player. This situation not only affects the morale of Pakistani Cricket Team, but also affect their mental health and undermines the spirit of sportsmanship that cricket embodies. Most recently, in a viral video from Pakistan Vs Australia's match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India on 20th October 2023, the Indian police officer unfairly treated and stopped Pakistani Fan from cheering Pakistan Zindabad (Long Live Pakistan).
Call to Action for ICC and BCCI
In addition to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB's) official complaint that was lodged to ICC against the unwelcoming treatment by BCCI towards Pakistan Cricket Team, we appeal ICC to take strict actions and address this issue on an URGENT BASIS. ICC mentioned that it will take action after the World Cup however we appeal this matter to be acknowledged and addressed URGENTLY, that is during the World Cup and not after the World Cup as this is immensely affecting Pakistan Cricket Team's "Mental Health" and "Performance" during the World Cup. This includes deploying additional security personnel at match venues, providing secure transportation for players, and ensuring safe accommodation facilities and positive environment at the stadium.
Further, in regards to the Crowd's abusive and boorish behavior, we appeal BCCI to implement strict security and anti-harassment protocols in all stadiums in India that involves promptly ejecting or banning individuals engaging in abusive and boorish behavior; collaborate with law enforcement to address misconduct, promote a respectful and inclusive environment for all cricket fans, and educate Indian Fans about the importance of sportsmanship and encourage positive Fan engagement initiatives.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have a responsibility to ensure that all teams participating in international matches are provided with adequate security. It is crucial that they take immediate actions against this issue.
We call upon these organizations to prioritize the safety of our team and fans by implementing stringent security and anti-harassment protocols.
Cricket is more than just a game; it's an avenue for cultural exchange and mutual respect among nations. Let us not mar its essence with acts of hostility or negligence towards player safety.
