Hi! My name is Bailey, I am 15, and in 10th grade. I've always loved the idea of having a pet snail. I just think they're so cute! Even though some people think they are gross. I've done research, and learned Garden Snails are one of the safest to keep as a pet. In terms of sickness they carry and cause, etc. They are also very easy and inexpensive to keep, like most snails. They eat waste from veggies, they also eat stuff you can easily find outside. They don't smell, aren't loud, obviously don't shed, and I'm pretty sure you don't need to clean up much after them. You can just find them in the backyard most times, I brought a few slugs inside to give them an idea, since the only big difference is they have no shell. They looked very healthy, they were large too. They threatened to "salt" them. I told them I would fund and take care of it myself. They said I wasn't responsible enough, and they're gross. Typical answer. I also said, after begging them, that they wouldn't have to take care of it. They still said no. Ooof. So, that brings me to my main point. I started this petition to try and persuade my parents to let me keep a snail next Spring. I believe I would be a good snail mommy.
