Mohsen is an Iranian-born man in his seventies. Decades ago, while visiting a friend in America, he converted to Christianity. He then returned to his homeland, Iran and started to preach Christianity. Because of his faith and preaching, Mohsen faced severe persecution from the Iranian government. He received death threats warning that if he did not stop sharing the Gospel, he would be killed in an engineered accident.

Eventually, Mohsen and his pregnant wife were arrested in their hometown in northern Iran. The escalating pressure left them with no room to breathe, forcing them to flee the country with their young daughter.

They initially sought refuge in Armenia, but it proved to be a difficult place to build a new life, as they faced various hardships, including the lack of a Farsi-speaking church. Seeking a better future, they moved to Sweden and applied for refugee status, but their applications were denied three times.

Due to these desperate circumstances, Mohsen’s wife and daughter returned to Armenia, where they were permitted to stay because their daughter was enrolled in school. Later, they attempted to return to Sweden to reunite with Mohsen, but they were unable to secure visas. Meanwhile, Mohsen's legal status in Sweden remains unclear.

This family has endured unimaginable suffering simply for holding fast to their faith. They fled their motherland to break out of a cage and seek the freedom that is an essential right for every human being. Tragically, they are now trapped in a new kind of cage—separated from one another.
