Urgent Appeal to Reschedule CLAT or AILET 2026 (DEC 2025) to Prevent Clash of Exam Dates

The Issue

Thousands of law aspirants across India are now in distress because the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) and the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) have been scheduled on the same date and time i.e. 7th December 2025, 2-4pm. Students who have been preparing diligently for months — and in many cases, years — now face an unfair choice: take one exam and miss the other. This affects not only their immediate academic goals but also their long-term career plans.

If this clash is not resolved, a large number of deserving students will lose out on the opportunity to appear for both premier law entrance exams. This could mean missing out on admission to top National Law Universities (NLUs) or NLU Delhi, thereby jeopardising their future in the legal field. The pressure and uncertainty caused by this situation are demoralising and unnecessary, especially when both exams could easily be held on different dates.

There is still time to act. We urge the Consortium of NLUs and National Law University, Delhi to coordinate and reschedule one of the exams. Such action would not only relieve thousands of students from unnecessary stress but also reaffirm the commitment of these esteemed institutions to fairness, accessibility, and student welfare. Please hear our voices and act swiftly — the future of many young legal minds depends on it.
