Update: Maryam Needs Urgent Support
Maryam has always tried to help those around her, even while facing unimaginable hardship herself. Despite her own condition, she has continued to support people in her community wherever she can.
But today, Maryam is struggling.
Her medical treatment alone costs $1,000 per month, not including the basic supplies she needs just to survive. It's true, she is doing better but at the same time, she and her family are living in extremely harsh and dangerous conditions:
Starvation. Extremely weak immunity. Undrinkable water.
Serious skin and respiratory diseases. Lack of treatment.
Insects, rodents, lice, fleas, bugs, and mosquitoes.
Rapidly spreading infections. Poor eyesight.
Garbage piling up. Severe lack of hygiene.
Please do not underestimate what she and her family is enduring. These are not temporary hardships, this is her daily reality.
Despite the severity of her condition, no embassy has stepped in to support or evacuate her. She remains trapped in an environment that is actively worsening her health, with no external protection or pathway out.
Right now, Maryam urgently needs support.
