Urgent & Action Oriented
The Issue
Dear Friends,
Every day, people in our community suffer the lasting effects of trauma with nowhere to turn for real, accessible healing.
We need a Trauma Resolution Center.
This isn’t just about therapy. It’s about creating a safe, inclusive space where survivors, including those affected by crime and violence, can receive trauma-informed care, peer support, restorative services, and holistic healing, without stigma, red tape, or endless waitlists.
We’ve launched this petition to urge Miami-Dade County leaders to recognize this urgent need and commit the necessary resources to keep the Trauma Resolution Center open and thriving.
Trauma is everywhere but healing is not.
From childhood abuse and domestic violence to gun violence, systemic injustice, and the devastating impacts of crime, people across Miami-Dade County are carrying trauma with no clear path to recovery. Survivors, including those grieving loved ones lost to violence, need more than condolences. They need real, ongoing support.
This unaddressed pain affects entire families, schools, public safety, and the mental health of our community, often for generations.
The Trauma Resolution Center (formerly known as Victim Services) has been serving Miami-Dade County since 1995. It is a vital community resource where survivors of trauma, including survivors of crime, can access real, compassionate care, not judgment, not one-size-fits-all therapy, but individualized support that meets people where they are.
We are calling on local government, the Department of Health, County Commissioners, and all relevant authorities to:
Fund the Trauma Resolution Center for the upcoming Miami-Dade County Fiscal Year.
Ensure services remain trauma-informed, culturally competent, and accessible to all.
Center the voices of survivors, especially those most impacted by violence, crime, and systemic trauma.
The Trauma Resolution Center provides:
· Free or low-cost trauma-specific therapy
· Peer and support groups
· Psychoeducational workshops
· Holistic healing options (including acupuncture and massage)
· Community education and outreach
We know untreated trauma is linked to mental illness, addiction, homelessness, violence, and incarceration. But with the proper care, healing is possible, and so is prevention.
Sign this petition to demand that our leaders continue to invest in healing. Help us protect and grow the Trauma Resolution Center so we can continue to serve those who need us most, today and for years to come.
Together, we can break the cycle of trauma and bring real healing to Miami-Dade County.

If you or someone you know has experienced trauma, you understand how deep the impact runs and how critical real support can be.
This center could change lives. But we need public pressure to move it forward. Your voice matters.
Thank you for standing with us.
With resolve,
